Reds Baseball & Softball is a non-profit organization which provides the opportunity for players age 7 years through college age to develop their baseball or softball skills to the top of their individual capability.
Our goal is to help further Reds players' education through college baseball and softball scholarships, giving them an excellent chance to become successful and responsible community leaders in the future.
The program provides many levels of skills development so that the players can advance yearly in skill levels, attitude and prepartion for the ultimate goal of graduation from the Reds program and hopefully continuing their education.
We will provide professional instruction in advanced baseball and softball skills for the players, managers, general managers and coaches. This allows managers and coaches to teach top level skills and strategies that will raise Reds players to the necessary plateau to be considered for college baseball and softball programs.
The Ball-Yard will teach each player specialized skills which will raise his or her value to prospective future programs.
We will keep in touch with parents and family concerning grades, cooperation at home, citizenship and general behavior to help encourage proper results in these areas so that each player will be prepared and ready for success at the college level.
The Reds will keep in touch with college coaches and professional scouts concerning each Reds player to help secure the best opportunity availavle for each Reds player according to his or her desires concerning higher education.
Providing young people the above opportunities is very expensive, and part of the cost will be offset by each player paying a participaton fee. The Reds then look to the private sector and the business community to help span the monetary gap. This will be especially true in the area of
attempting to raise money for the purpose of
providing scholarships for interested young people whose family is not capable of paying the player fee and other related costs in our program.
The Red River Reds program has MANY players who need scholarship help, and none will be turned away for monetary reasons as long as there are scholarship funds available.
To secure funds necessary to carry out the above stated goals, we secure tax deductible donations through our non-profit status.
We know the Red River Reds Baseball & Softball Program works because of the high school seniors who have completed the Reds program, 109 have attended college on their baseball skills and 14 have signed professional baseball contracts upon leaving the Reds Program and 27 Ball-Yard fastpitch softball players have received college scholarships.
1997 RR Reds Graduates Adam Berry
and Bobby Roe both accepted baseball scholarships to UCLA. Bobby was chosen Freshman All American and was twice voted
to the All Pac 10 Team as a pitcher and Adam has been one of the leading power hitters for
the Bruins, hitting 18 HRs his senior year, after which he signed a pro contract to play in the Texas Rangers Organization.
